November is child safety and protection month, which is the perfect time to check all the safety devices that you have in place. Use these reminders to help keep your kids safe this month and beyond.
- Car safety – every time your child gets in the car, they should be sitting in the right child seat for their size and weight. Keeping your child in a rear-facing seat as long as possible can help to keep them better protected since it will provide better support for their head and neck.
- Home safety – keep all stairways clear of any clutter that could cause your children to trip and fall. Make sure all landings and stairs are will lit to ensure that your kids can see. Avoid keeping any dangerous chemicals, such as medications and cleaning supplies, out of the reach of children and in a locked cabinet. When putting your baby to sleep, place them on their backs and keep their cribs free from any pillows, comforters, or soft blankets.
Most importantly, make sure that your children are always supervised, even while they are doing ‘harmless’ activities. Keeping an eye on your kids at all times can help to ensure that you are able to prevent most accidents or injuries and are close by if something does go wrong.
