Ditch the Xbox and play outside with these great outdoor activities for spring!

It’s time for spring break. With no school to attend, it’s easy for kids to stay in all day. From video games to television, a sedentary lifestyle is no way to spend spring break. Encourage your kids to play and keep them active all break long.  Be sure to check out these outdoor activities for some good old fashioned fun.

  • Fly a kite! Spend a day at a park and break out the old kite. It’s a great activity to do together. Plus, you can get creative and make your own kite.
  • Sidewalk Chalk. Trace your outline, draw a pretty picture, even make your own hopscotch court. Your kids will have a blast as they express their creativity and you don’t have to worry about any mess.
  • Tag, you’re It! There’s nothing quite like a game of tag. From freeze tag to duck, duck, goose you can’t go wrong with tag. It will have your kids up and moving all while having a great time.
  • Have a ball! From kickball, dodgeball, to handball, have your kids get out and play. Whether they play with friends or the neighborhood, it’s a great way to get in a little exercise while having a blast.
  • Ride a bike! Don’t how to ride? No problem, Spring break is the perfect time to learn. Make sure to put a helmet on your kids and cruise along, enjoying the great outdoors.
  • Partake in a friendly pick-up game. From basketball to flag football, sports with friends are always a good time. Even if your child just visits your local court to play a game of H-O-R-S-E, they’re staying active.
